Child Visiting Arrangements
Special arrangements have to be made for children to visit the Hospital and these have to be approved by the local Children's safeguard Team. All possible visits must be arranged with the social work department at St Mary's. If visits are approved a special child visiting room is provided which is not located in a patient ward area.
Visiting arrangements
St George Health Care Group acknowledges the importance of family contact and we will do everything we can to support this. However, all visits need to be pre-arranged to make sure there is a room available. Please telephone to arrange visits. We will make sure visitors have all the information they need, including how to find us, visiting times and any items which you may bring for your relative. Visiting times will normally be 5.00 pm to 8.00 pm on weekdays and with more flexible arrangements at the weekend.
Visits will take place in the Visiting Room; staff may be required to be present. All visitors will be informed about items which are not permitted in the Hospital and will be provided with lockers for the safe storage of banned items.
Visitors will be asked for ID on arrival at the Hospital and may be subject to pat down search for the medium or low secure unit and have their belongings checked. If visitors arrive at the hospital with children without prior approval, the visit is unable to go ahead.
